The veil
A white, cotton veil
For the first time your mother carries you
when you cannot remember
all those strange faces.
A colorful veil, painted with stars
To cover you in the cold autumn nights
when the nightmares are so real
and you wish the demons disappear.
Another one, bigger
You picked the color this time
To dry love and shame tears
those that hurt during the early years.
A blue veil, when nothing occurs
when you are so numb,
when the frustration cries
and the pain speaks for you
A scarlet satin veil
for those nights when you are confused
when you cannot see a difference
between love and lust
A green one, that brings you peace
at sunset, when you don't know
if you are talking to him
or speaking to a wall.
A golden veil, to set you free
to bring the light again to you
after those rainy gray days
when you where caged
Finally, A black veil
to hide your face from sad features
to keep your cold body warm
while your beloved ones say farewell.
